For best results use on bleached or pre-lightened hair, although some deeper shades may give a sheen or hint of colour to darker hair. Dye results may vary depending on hair type, hair porosity & base colour. Always follow manufacturer’s instructions fully. Do not condition hair prior to use as this can smooth the hair follicle and act as a barrier on the hair. Always shake tub/bottle beforehand or use a mixing bowl to ensure colour pigments are well mixed. Colours in the tub/bottle are not necessarily an indication of the final hair colour and the dyes can vary slightly between batches, therefore dye results cannot be guaranteed. This stuff seems to be kind of inconsistent. The first time I used it it turned the most incredibly bright neon pink. The second time it just didn’t really take at all, despite dying it twice 2 days in a row. It was still kind of peachy and faded looking. All in all probably worth splashing out on SFX.

This dye’s pretty awesome. I put it over natural medium-brown hair and it went a nice bright shade of green – definitely stood out despite the fact I hadn’t bleached my hair before-hand.
The only problem I had was the speed it fades at – but it would probably last much longer on bleached or dyed-blonde hair.
Good stuff, I’d buy it again. Really good price, too.

This dye turned out a nice dark blue. It would get a 5 star rating if it wasn’t for this. After two weeks of having the dye, it still bled when it was washed. Even after dying my hair black, and running it under the faucet for minutes it never went clear. -Mandy-

I’m wasn’t impressed by this product as my hair wasn’t as blonde as I expected when I bought it. I use another brand which actually produces better results than Amplified.

This is my favourite dye. Directions scores again. Their dyes not only give a great colour, but also make your hair silky smooth. I use this instead of all the Pink dyes. For the first 2-3 washes it is pretty dark but after that it’s an amazingly bright pink.

This hair dye is really easy to use! Much much easier than any other hair dye I’ve ever used, and it isn’t messy! My hair had already been bleached and I put this over it, leaving it in overnight. The colour came out so amazing! I’ve only washed it once so far but the colour hasn’t faded at all! Manic Panic is definately the best brand to use! I put cotten candy pink at the back of my hair and atomic turquoise at the front, I put them in at the same time but was really careful not to mix them, the colour didn’t bleed from either of them at all and they look great together! I choose the cotton candy pink ’cause I didn’t want to get a bright one that would clash too much with red and it really is the perfect colour!

Apart from a little bit of staining on my towels as I dried my hair after rinsing the dye out it’s amazing. Lovely colour! It seems to get brighter everytime I wash it for the first two weeks and after two months it still hasn’t faded and I haven’t needed to top it up. (I put it on bleached hair). -Kitty-

It’s difficult to dye my hair because I have dreadlocks and they tend to make hair dye look dark and not very shiny. I was worried about using a bright colour in case it came out darker or not so bright. I needen’t have worried! My dreads came out a lovely bright pink. My only problem was having to clear up after any spillage really quick to make sure it didn’t stain my face or the bathroom. Otherwise I couldn’t be happier! -Mathurine-

It’s a fab colour! Just how I wanted, not too bright Fades fast though, I’ve gone to washing my hair as little as possible and using dry shampoo, but you can’t put it off forever. It’s almost gone after about 3 washes (2 weeks for me) Lovely colour while it lasts though!

I used Stargazers Hot Red on my little sisters hair, which is thick and long (down to her middle back)! I only needed one and a half bottle to cover it so there is a lot of dye to work with! Also, the colour came out RED (on pre-bleached orange hair). Great red colour, couldn’t be nicer! The colour faded into a pinky red, and it lasted for about 2-3 weeks (two without fading). Highly recommended if your looking for a cool and RED haircolour!

This dye is amazing!! I did it over bleached hair and it just looked brilliant! It does stain skin pretty bad but it washes off easily. It’s lasted me about 2 weeks now and its still got quite a while left i think 🙂

Had been using this for years but now it has changed ingredients so not as long lasting or vibrant as it used to be. Why they changed it I dont know. It used to be really dark and thick like jelly but now its lighter in the bottle. It fades really quick now..like 2 weeks so am thinking of trying another brand but it will cost me tripple for 1 bottle but I guess if it lasts me 6 weeks then no difference in price. Oh and I dont wash my hair that often so its not like im washing it out! Bring back the original please!!

It was the first time I used this dye, and I’m really satisfied with the effects. The colour is insanely vibrant, beautiful and long-lasting. It’s been three weeks already, and it faded only a little bit [I wash my hair every day, so it’s really surprising].
A small tip: before applying the dye, wash your hair with a cleansing shapmoo and then apply the dye on almost dry hair, and then, coveir it up with a plastic cap and a towel. You will get the best results if you keep the dye on for a couple of hours. I just went to sleep and washed my hair in the morning 😀

Easily the best Directions colour I’ve used. (Except maybe Atlantic Blue xD) It didn’t stain HALF as much as the others, and it went a beautiful violet colour. I didn’t even bother bleaching or lightening my hair, which was a faded red colour at the time, and it went blindingly bright. I’d be really interested to see it on pre-lightened hair. Very sexy dye.

On virgin hair this did not yield the same results as Manic Panic’s Hot Hot Pink even though the colour is as bright in the packaging. The colour it gave was more of a burgundy, however because my length is more of a golden brown red + gold will will yield these results. I am sure on bleached hair it would be great, but not on virgin hair.
