For best results use on bleached or pre-lightened hair, although some deeper shades may give a sheen or hint of colour to darker hair. Dye results may vary depending on hair type, hair porosity & base colour. Always follow manufacturer’s instructions fully. Do not condition hair prior to use as this can smooth the hair follicle and act as a barrier on the hair. Always shake tub/bottle beforehand or use a mixing bowl to ensure colour pigments are well mixed. Colours in the tub/bottle are not necessarily an indication of the final hair colour and the dyes can vary slightly between batches, therefore dye results cannot be guaranteed. I used this dye for almost a year and a half for my whole head and it delivers!
It does stain your surrondings and fingers if it gets in contact with them so be prepared with lots of towels and take your time.
I have always used Directions due to it being sold nearby, and when I first used “Flamingo Pink” it was incredibly (almost glow-in-the-dark) vibrant but I found faded alot quicker, using this, it washes out to the colour of the flamingo pink and lasts a LOT lot longer than it.
I love this colour, but be warned, now that Lily Allen has pink hair – its lost its cool! I changed to blue!!

I liked this dye very much. I used it on the whole head, and I just couldn’t stop staring at myself, because I loved the sahde so much. It does stain a little in the beginning, but the stains wash out easily, so it’s not a problem ^^. And it fades to a lovely shade of reddish pink. It also makes a pretty color, mixed with Atlantic Blue!

Very bright colour, neon yellow result. Electric Banana stayed in for a very long time (can be hard to get rid of but easy to dye over with a darker colour).

I WAS SO IN LOVE WITH THIS COLOR. I had it for about 2 months and it didn’t go anywhere. It was beautiful and made people want to touch it…a lot. You need a very even blonde base for it to come out well, though. -MissKittyRawr-

I’ve been using Poppy Ped for 8 years, find it easy to apply, using tinting brush or fingers.I always use over bleached hair which gives it a drop dead vibrancy.I’ve been very lucky with the fade, the red usually fades down to a hot pink after about 4-5 weeks, although lately it’s been fading much quicker, probably because of the length of time I’ve been using the same product.I moved to the South Of France 3 years ago, and although I use UV shampoos etc it did start to fade a bit quicker here than in the UK, as it was lasting 6-8 weeks there. I try to leave a minimum of 4-5 days between washes, and I always wait a minimum of a week after dying before the first wash.I don’t leave it on all night, I usually wait about 45 mins before washing, but I only bleach the roots, and re-bleach the tips. I do a full re-colour ie All black, lift the black add the red, about once a year just to refresh. I’ve used many other brands and colours in the past, but Directions has been the easiest and the best. -Mentonmadame-

This might simply be the best pink colour I’ve ever used (I’ve used three different brands). The colour’s so vibrant, looking all shiny and in some places kinda lilac when given the proper lightning. Stays on your hair really well, just as long as you remember to wash it with really cold water and use a conditioner afterwards. I dye my own hair once a week, but only because I can’t stand colour that’s even a little bit faded – but don’t worry, it stays beautiful for even two weeks if you aren’t as possessed dye-user as I am. -Defoni-

I love love LOVE this hair dye. I was a bit sceptical at first about using it, because it didn’t look the best.. But I left it in for an hour and a half, and the colour was AMAZING! I never expected it to be so bright. I had gingerish hair before, so I expected duller colours, but nono. The dye faded after 5-7 washes, only slightly though. I put it in a second time for half an hour and it turned pink. Lovely hair dye. I advise anyone to use it 🙂 -Tracy-

Plum turned out a beautiful, vibrant, deep purple color with a dark pink mixed in. It faded really nice, something i find really important…! On the examples in the shop it sometimes seems a bit dull, but don’t get misguided by that, it’s a great color! (used it on bleached hair). -STPH-

I never bleached my hair before, and I was pretty scared about using a 40 vol. but i wanted my hair bright and white looking. This product worked wonders! It didnt smell like most bleaches do. and and my actually stayed reasonably shiney. it was nice and moisturising i found and easy to use. the guide on the back depending on your hair colour also was clear and helped! all together AMAZING! 🙂

The most beautiful blue… ever. It lasts three times as long as the other blue shades, and pretty much fades into what those ones start out as. If you want a super rich dark blue (almost black blue) that fades into a gorgeous bright blue, and eventually bright turquoise, this one’s for you. It never really fades into a dull color. I used to shampoo often for a couple of days to speed up the process, but the original dark shade is quite nice as well, particularly when you’re in the sun. -PoppyRed-

Your hair has to be super super white to use this or it goes a funny colour. The colour in the bottle looks blue but dont be put off by that. When put on white hair its a nice colour but I prefer the Directions Lilac, its more reliable. – Emailed Review (Draculaura)

This dye was very vibrant and didn’t fade over my blonde hair. The dye had a nice smell and it lasted for nearly 3 months, bright as ever, before I decided to bleach my hair. I only had to touch it up one time, before Halloween, and I used half a container for the first time I dyed it and the rest for the touch up. My hair was shoulder length at the time.
