For best results use on bleached or pre-lightened hair, although some deeper shades may give a sheen or hint of colour to darker hair. Dye results may vary depending on hair type, hair porosity & base colour. Always follow manufacturer’s instructions fully. Do not condition hair prior to use as this can smooth the hair follicle and act as a barrier on the hair. Always shake tub/bottle beforehand or use a mixing bowl to ensure colour pigments are well mixed. Colours in the tub/bottle are not necessarily an indication of the final hair colour and the dyes can vary slightly between batches, therefore dye results cannot be guaranteed. i LOVE this colour! i have very dark hair but once i have done my highlights or bleaching this shade really stands out and gets me noticed! the only problem is – i love it so much it’s preventing me from trying out any of the other colours i have purchased!!

Brilliant, Vibrant colour. Amazing coverage, with shimmering highlights on the lighter areas on the hair.
A lot comes out when you wash it and it really does stain white surfaces! (Esp shower hoses hah).

If your looking for a temporary but striking look then Directions is the perfect brand. I lightened my hair to a hideous yellowy colour and the red showed up brilliantly, the initial colour was gorgeous and intense but it faded ridiculously fast. I know that people try to maintain the colour by not washing their hair as regularly, but I can’t stand having greasy locks. I’m definately going to try ‘special effects’ dyes as I’ve heard that they last a lot longer. -KittySynthetica-

Although this is meant to be red i’ve always found it to come out more of a dark pink colour. Which is why it works well if you’re dying it pink and want it to last. Generally stays vibrant for about 2+ weeks and when it does fade it goes to a lighter pink. -Beki-

I first used this dye a few years ago as a sort of summer holiday gift to myself. At the time I had very long hair (near my bum) and I was only dying half of it. The bottle had more than enough to cover that section of hair even though I have very thick, long hair. The colour came out a beautiful teal/turquoise colour and stayed very soft and shiny. The colour stayed lovely and vibrant for almost 7 weeks. I had to dye over it for when I went back to school because it wouldn’t wash out of my bleached hair! Well recommended. -Mistress Pandora-

I adore this colour! Over pale blonde hair it starts off as a deep rich glossy cherry red and after 5 washes it has turned into a cerise pink, still very vibrant and shiney! Definitely using this again 🙂

This is a really good dye if you have brassy tones in your hair and you want a more silver/purple hint to you hair combined with a silver shampoo I use “touch of silver” which can be found in Saver’s drug store if you live in the UK.

This is the best dye out of all the ones i have tried! I used Manic Panic-Vampire Red for a long time, but found that it faded to a copper colour after about 2 weeks. The crazy colour i used 3 weeks ago is still as vibrant and as red as the day i applied it!

i’m actually amazed by this, i was scared that 40 vol might be too strong and fry my hair, but it’s awesome, my hair is a medium brown and i left it for about ten minutes and it was already yellow, i couldn’t believe it, it was really fast it took me only like 15 minutes to get to the light blonde i wanted. i washed my hair afterwards and it feels so soft and healthy, this is amazing, i don’t know how people fried their hair with this, i guess you kind of have to know what you are doing…

Brilliant product. Used it a while back, and it stayed for well over 2 months (not that it was a problem!) The colour was amazing, and my hair felt nice even during the colouring process. Was a nightmare to get rid of when I had to let it go, but it went nice shades of blue and green along the way! Would definitely buy again, but I don’t think my potential employer would approve 🙁 -Annie-

I am completely in love with this product! It’s an amazing deep blue. And stays in for a while too!
I heard it’s made for fried hair. And my hair is pretty fried so maybe that’s why it worked so well!

Have great coverage, fair bit of rub off for a while after first application.
Very very stubborn to remove. Faded to a light blue/teal after 2 bottles of head and shoulders and then after 4x bleach powder/shampoo/oil washes ended up mostly yellow with mint green ends. Don’t think I’d have ever been able to remove it entirely without toning it out and don’t think it would ever have reached the pale green without the powder bleach/shampoo/oil washes.
So really great product if you want longevity in your blue colour because it really does endure great. If I’d wanted to keep the blue I could have gotten away with topping it up once every 2 months on my hair. Also covers virgin hair and clings on well but was obviously darker then the bleached hair.
